Aaliyah Dana Haughton and Aarti Mann

Aaliyah Haughton became famous in 1994, when she dropped her debut album Age Ain't Nothing but a number. Her album, which was released when she only had fifteen years old was certified Gold. The album was a collaboration that was highly influenced by R. Kelly and it brought her into the limelight. In the year 1996 Jermaine and Timbaland came out with Aaliyah's sophomore album One In A Million. The album contained the single If Your Girls Only Knew, the most-sold single. Aaliyah gained international recognition as a R&B artist following the release of her sophomore album, One In A Million. Aaliyah starred alongside the legendary Jet-Li, the famous martial artist in Romeo Must Die (2000), an action and romantic film. Joel Silver, the film producer, saw her during the awards ceremony and kindly offered her this part. In 2002, she was able to appear in the film vampire Queen of the Damned which was based on Anne Rice's Anne Rice novel. After that, she entered the Matrix with her role as Zee on The Matrix Sequels having also appeared on The Matrix Reloaded in 2003 as well as The Matrix Revolutions in the same year. Born in Connecticut to a family of Indian heritage. Mann the stage name is an acronym for Mankad her surname when she married. Aarti Magnumdar is her official name, but she is also known as Aarti Magumdar. Though she initially had small TV and movie performances, her acting began growing in popularity around the mid 2000s. Her other notable projects include Grey's Anatomy, Suits and Leverage. The actress also appeared in a variety of commercials that included Volvo and other major automobile brands. She is a resident of Los Angeles where she continues to perform as an actress.
